Annie JR - Online!
Principal Cast Grades 1-5
Directed by Emily Garrett
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

ALL REGISTERED STUDENTS WILL BE CAST IN THIS PRODUCTION!
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE LOGISTICAL INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING.
All cast members who would like to be considered for a principal role MUST prepare a vocal/monologue audition and sign up for an individual online audition appointment on September 26, 27, 28, or October 4th. These auditions are fun and friendly! We have selected short monologues and short clips of music from the show with which most students will already be familiar. You will be given acess to this material after you enroll in the production. You will also receive a link for individual audition sign-ups after you register for the production.
If your student is not interested in a principal role, they do not need to prepare a vocal/monologue audition but they must attend the online group audition on Monday, October 5th from 6:00-8:00pm. At this online group audition we will play ice breakers and games, get to know each other a little bit, read through some scripts together, and try a little choreography (easy and fun)! A Zoom link for the group audition will be included in your registration enrollment email confirmation.
Auditionees for principal roles must sign up for:
1. An individual, 10 minute, online audition (dates/times below)
2. Attend the online group audition on Monday, October 5th from 6:00-8:00pm.
Individual Auditions: Combined vocal/monologue will be held:
Saturday September 26th from 2-4pm
Sunday, September 27th from 2-4pm
Monday, September 28th from 5:00-6:00pm
Sunday, October 4th from 4:00-6:00pm
The individual audition appointments are 10 minutes long. You will need to have your music ready to play on a separate device from the one you are using to login on Zoom. You might use a tablet or laptop to login to Zoom for your audition but then have a phone ready to go with your music cued up for your vocal audition. If you have ANY technical questions about auditions, PLEASE email in advance for help. Email your stage manager, Anastasia, at email@example.com.
Music tracks for auditions willl be made available for you after you register for the production. You can use the vocal version (the one that has an actor singing along with it) to learn the song but you will need to use the accompaniment version (“karaoke track”) for your audition appointment. Practice with the vocal version a couple of times to get the hang of it and then switch to the accompaniment track to practice it the way you will sing it in your audition appointment.
Group audition: - All cast members are called for this group audition on Monday, October 5th from 6:00-8:00pm.
Please read your registration confirmation email. It will have an audition document attached with a link to sign up for audition appointments for vocal/monologue auditions.
Please prepare for your vocal/monologue audition:
1 song - choose one of the following:
Maybe - first 45 seconds
Tomorrow - first 46 seconds
Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile - first 40 seconds
After you are registered for the production, you will receive a document with a Google Drive link where you can access the music tracks for auditions.
1 brief monologue - after you are registered for the production, you will receive a document with monologues from which you may choose.
These monologues are short and we would like you to do your best to memorize them so you can show us your acting skills. It would be better to cut your monologue short a little if you need to so you can have it all memorized.
