One of the most important aspects to playing a role is being able to physically embody the character. Yet students hardly ever get the chance to solely work on how they can bring a character to life without the added stress of learning lines, blocking, music, etc. In StageMovement I, students will not only learn the fundamentals of dance technique, but also everything related to building a character including studies of physicality, posture, spatial awareness, exploration of the senses, and more! This class will challenge your actor to move their bodies in new and unexplored means while being supported in an encouraging and judgement-free zone. Though students may join class at any time, Stage Movement I is built to be a year-long class with a curriculum that builds on itself as it progresses through time - we suggest you keep your actor enrolled in this class all year long for maximum learning potential!
